Just had to post a quick note after coming back from a camping trip at Mt Madonna County Park this past Memorial Day weekend. On our last visit I discovered the archery practice range and forested target course. While I'm not a expert in archery I was impressed with the facilities which include a 100 yard practice area and 40 target stations throughout the hillside.
My son's and I limited ourselfs to the practice range but it was treat to see some of the archers hit a target 70 plus yards away in a knock you hat off windy day. I have a new appreciation for the skills of these outdoors-men and women. This area of the park has a group of picnic tables, garbage cans, and porta potties available. I would like to give a special thanks to the Mt. Madonna Bowman for maintaining the facilities throughout the year. Please note, you will have to bring your own archery equipment but you can always pick up a set via eBay or a garage sale to get started.
